Muck’s tool upgrade system works like a ladder, meaning you’ll need to craft a Mithril Pickaxe in order to mine Adamantite and work your way to the highest upgrade tiers. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about Mithril.
Craft a Steel Pickaxe
Before you bother looking for Mithril, you’ll need to craft a Steel Pickaxe to mine it. For the Steel Pickaxe, you’ll need:
5 iron bars 5 bark 10 birch logs
Logs can be found by chopping down trees. Bark can be made from logs in the crafting menu. And Iron can be found via Iron Chunks, which appear as dark gray rocks on the surface (mined with a wooden pickaxe). You’ll need to smelt the ore in a furnace to create iron bars.
Mine for Mithril
First, find a Mithril chunk. Mithril chunks look exactly like Iron Chunks, except they are blue. They are found randomly on the surface but spawn less frequently than lower-tier minerals like Iron and Gold.
When you find a chunk, give it a few whacks with your Steel Pickaxe to receive between 5 and 15 shiny blue ore pieces.
Mithril deposits can also be found in caves.
Get Mithril as Rare Loot
Additionally, Mithril can be found as rare loot in chests.
In a Pitman House chest, there is a 1/20 chance to find some ore. In a cave chest, there is a 1/5 chance.
Get Mithril from Big Chunk
There is a 30% chance that defeating Big Chunk will give you Mithril ore.
Items Crafted with Mithril
Once you have some Mithril, throw it all into a furnace to smelt it. Once it has been processed, you’ll receive one Mithril bar per ore smelted, which can be used to craft a myriad of items:
On a Fletching Table:
1 Mithril bar + 2 Fir Wood = 4 Mithril Arrows
On an Anvil:
5 Mithril bars + 5 Bark + 10 Fir Wood = Pickaxe or Axe 5 Mithril bars + 5 Fir Wood = Sword 5 Mithril bars = Helmet 20 Mithril bars = Chestplate 15 Mithril bars = Leggings 5 Mithril bars = Boots
Best Mithril Seeds
If you’re looking for some quick and easy Mithril, there are some good seeds to help you get some quick.
“570259” will spawn you near a hut with two green chests inside, containing 13 Mithril ore. If you’d prefer to find some naturally spawning mithril chunks in the wild, then seed “7326963” is a great one. Not only is there plenty of Mithril ore at spawn, but there’s some Adamantite and Obamium too!
