It’s one of the thousand-plus new items introduced in Terraria 1.4, the last update for Terraria, and its power is incredible. With that in mind, you’ll be wanting to get your hands on it if you’re hoping to be at your best for the challenges ahead of you. So, here’s everything you need to know about the Terraprisma.

How to Get the Terraprisma in Terraria 1.4

What is the Terraprisma

The Terraprisma is a fancy-looking new “sword” available in hardmode. While it looks like a sword, though, it’s actually the best summon weapon in the game, which means it should be at the top of your wishlist.

Using it costs 10 mana, and summons an enchanted sword to fight alongside you, somewhat like a familiar.

How to Get the Terraprisma

To get the Terraprisma, you need to defeat the Empress of Light. This is a new boss introduced in the 1.4 Journey’s End update, and they feel a lot like a bullet hell boss, to be honest.

The Empress of Light flies around the world shooting out beams of varying colors that either home in on you or appear in specific areas, and dodging all of them is incredibly tough. She drops a lot of new loot, but to get the Terraprisma, you actually have to defeat her by only dealing damage during the day.

This makes an already tough boss fight much harder because daylight boosts her damage high enough to instakill with nearly every attack.

However, doing this is the only way you can get the Terraprisma, so you’ll either have to get very good at the game, or play on Journey Mode and activate God Mode instead. Both are equally honorable if you ask me.

How to Spawn the Empress of Light

To spawn the Empress of Light, you first need to be in hardmode, which you reach when you’ve killed off the Wall of Flesh down at the bottom of the world.

Now that you’ve done that, hallowed areas will appear, and you need to kill off Plantera, then head to one of the hallowed areas and keep an eye out for a little bug called a Prismatic Lacewing. These insects only spawn at night, and you’ll need to kill it to summon the Empress of Light.

The trick to getting the Terraprisma is to kill the Prismatic Lacewing just before night ends, and then make sure you keep moving as you’re fighting off the Empress.

If you don’t deal damage to her only during the day, then the Terraprisma won’t drop. It’s not an easy thing to do, but the power of magical blades following you around is well worth it. Plus, you’ll get to feel a little bit like Alucard in the Castlevania series, and that’s gotta be worth the effort.

That’s it on how to get the Terraprisma in Terraria 1.4, as well as a few tips on how to beat the Empress of Light. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more on the latest Terraria update, and be sure to keep an eye on our other Terraria guides!
