- Choose a suitable location It may seem obvious, but it’s essential to position your patio heater in an unenclosed space, or you risk a nasty case of carbon monoxide poisoning. Make sure the patio heater is on a non-flammable surface, such as concrete.
- Connect the heater and the fuel source Open the valve cap. Place the regulator inside to connect the propane tank and the heater.
- Open the valve Open the valve fully to allow the gas to flow through it.
- Ignite With high-end models, you may be able to ignite your heater at the press of a button. Otherwise, hold a lighted match in the meshed area of the regulator.
